KCP&L was having trouble getting the word out about its Home Energy Rebates Program, so they approached our team to create a multimedia campaign that would encourage and drive participation.
Through a lengthy concepting phase, I helped to lead and develop a campaign concept that utilized humor and fun to drive the benefit of the program home.
We positioned the idea as one that showcased people being shocked when they found out what their old appliances were worth. This lead to a series of TV spots that felt like an Antiques Roadshow spoof – which both the client and their customers loved.
The result? The client had to cancel the program early because they’d used all of their rebate money.
So, yeah. It worked.
We also swept the TV and multi-channel categories in every awards show we entered – which was just icing on the cake for a campaign that made our clients feel like they’d spent their money wisely.
