What’s more awkward than writing your own bio?
I’m Josh Chavis – a Creative Director (Art, Copy) with over 12 years experience leading creative teams in the advertising industry – cultivating ideas that have delivered real results for some of the world’s leading brands.
A farm kid from small town America (Kansas, more specifically), I’ve taken a bit of a unique path to the advertising world – but I’m so grateful to have found it.
Small town life taught me the value of hard work, respect for others, and the value of imagination. As you can imagine, when one lives their formative years in a place where entertainment is hard to come by, creativity is a must.
I still carry a love for manufactured adventure with me today, and consider myself truly lucky to have a career in an industry that allows me to flex my creative muscles on a daily basis.
At work, I pride myself on leading by example. I love to teach, coach and mentor – and this job affords me the ability to help creatives reach their full potential. A large believer in the adage, “lead the way, and then get out of the way,” I pride myself on empowering my colleagues, and celebrating their growth.
At home, I’m busy learning the fine art of parenting – alongside my wife Heather, and son, Theodore. And, sorry current-and-future employers – being a dad is easily the best job I'll ever have.
